Large Wall Lamps attributed to Ercole Barovier & Toso, Italy, 1940s, Set of 2

This rare pair of wall lamps represents a masterpiece of 20th-century Venetian craftsmanship, designed by renowned designer Ercole Barovier and crafted by the historic Barovier & Toso glassworks on the island of Murano. Likely produced in the 1940s or 1950s, these works exemplify the modernist innovation of Barovier, who, as artistic director of the firm (from 1926 to 1972), revolutionized the Murano glassmaking tradition, blending classical elegance with sculptural forms and cutting-edge techniques. Their rarity stems not only from their limited artisanal production—each piece is mouth-blown by master glassmakers—but also from their historical context.
