Mid-Century LS2 Pendants attributed to L. Caccia Dominioni for Azucena, 1950s, Set of 2

These two elegant LS2 pendant lamps are an iconic example of mid-century Italian design, designed by Luigi Caccia Dominioni for the Azucena company around 1952. This pair of suspended pendants is perfect for discreetly and elegantly illuminating modern-classic residential or commercial spaces. Each lamp features a spherical, sandblasted opal glass diffuser, 40 cm in diameter, which emits a soft, diffused light, creating a warm, enveloping halo. The glass is mounted on a circular, burnished brass ring, lending a touch of metallic warmth and a natural patina. The suspension structure is composed of a cylindrical, polished brass canopy, from which a thin, vertical brass stem extends, connecting to the diffuser with an elegant, minimalist joint. The design embodies the essence of Caccia Dominioni's "modern classicism"—clean lines, balanced proportions, and meticulous attention to craftsmanship, without excessive decoration. The burnished brass and opaque glass create a fascinating tactile and visual contrast, with a vintage look but without obvious signs of wear, as seen in the photo.
